First published in February 2016, the Pleiades K117 preamplifier consists of just a K117 JFET and a cathode resistor.

It works in the same way as the internal electret mic capsule pre amp, converting high impedance to low while being powered by the device to be connected to which supplies the supply voltage trough a load resistor which converts the amplified current to amplified voltage by Ohm's law.
In this example mic distance is 24in. recorded outdoors at the balcony.
