Should the elastomer membrane inside a loudspeaker enclosure be thin in order to absorb mid bass reflections or reverberation?

Elastomer membranes convert vibration to heat, energy is dissipated as the elastomer material flexes.


Thinner material of 1mm will be tried on the 2nd Auratone 5C type Pleiades monitoring speaker prototype.
