This is a main reason why 2 Pleiades Auratone 5C type cubic speakers on top of table sound adequately loud just by being connected directly to headphones out.


In fact it is like connecting headphones. The seated listener has two 5in vibrating cones in front left and right. At about 2 feet the size of 5in cones appears larger than the small size of 1in say headphone drive units directly to each ear.
