A great example of a C sharp minor song

Angel Eyes - ABBA

There are so few musical compositions on our planet written in the key or musical scale of C sharp minor.

One of the most difficult keys are almost all notes are black. C is C sharp, D is D sharp etc. Only E and B are natural. It may be a nightmare to play. But not if you think white or natural notes and add the sharps were needed. In music everything is referenced to the white notes. And everything is referenced to the bass. If you think about it this is how music is written on a score. The notes are always written natural or white. The sharps or flats are only indicated at the beginning near the clefs.

The C sharp minor key sounds fantastic, mysterious, out of this world.

Two more examples, find some more yourself.

Moonlight Sonata - Beethoven

Moonlight Shadow - Mike Oldfield

Can a mic bass reduction filter be sound on an iron nut?

Possibly so.

It is one of those things that get kicked on the street by everyone.

The hexagonal surface must be smooth so that the thin wire does not brake.

This can make a Pleiadss (R,L) filter.

If the wire is very thin and many turns are used and if the DC resistance turns out of the order of 100Ω then a series resistor, resistors  might not be needed.

A Pleiadss R, L filter can create a very gentle bass cut slope.

For flat frequency response from producer's brain to listener's brain.

How to quickly harmonies to many parts, melodies or voices

1st thing we must know is bass.

2nd thing we must know is the code (or numbers) above the bass. This defines the chord [Bach].

Then as the main melody flows, the other parts can be the other notes of the chord. It can sound brilliant. A possible example is the intro of I have a Dream - ABBA. It can sound rediculous if other parts just follow up or down the main melody. More than often the less movement a part has the more refined or sophisticated  is the end result, to listener's brain. The listener's brain perception. Later addition: the first and second melody can go together up or down usually in thirds but again the chord structure should be followed in order to avoid nasty surprises.

Now an example of brilliant lazy or standing parts. Listen or play Dancing Queen - ABBA. When they sing "Dancing queen feel the beat from the tambourine...", the bass stays A, pedal bass. The harmony is A C E G to A C E A then A D F G to A D F A. Notice the principle of least change in refined music. Note how A is pedal on an upper part too.  (To play correctly notice that the key is A major so all C, F, G are sharp). This sound brilliant also on a synthesizer and even better if the Pleiades tuning is used. For example on DX7ii or Korg Triton were octaves are tunes for current octave brain perception.

An amazing example of 3 chord song

I have a Dream - ABBA

The key is B flat major. So all B, E are flat, the black key just to the left of the B, E notes.

The chords notated as figured bass are just B, F, E.

So using the 1 3 5 harmonic triad rule they are:

B bass and B D F
F bass and F A C
E bass and E G B
(Remember all B, E are flat)

A nice exercise is trying playing at a keyboard together with ABBA while the song is being reproduced.

The song begins of course with bass B. But the first note of the riff melody is E ie an interval of 4th.

The song is by no means trivial. On the contrary. For example the melody is doing mich of the miracle. Best by playing on a keyboard listen to how the melody passes from, or becomes A when the bass is B. It hence creates the sense of the B flat major seventh chord, (Bflat bass and D F A), one of the most beautiful chords on our planet. Bflat together with A, what a sound. It is when they sing "I believe.....(B bass with A melody), in Angels".

See next post for elements on how to possibly harmonize the intro so that it sounds corect as ABBA played it.

A great example of Pedal Bass

Fame - Gore, Pitchford, Cara

From the original motion picture soundtrack.

The bass begins with F and stays F for a long time while other parts change.

Then when verse begins, "Babe look at me..." the bass becomes a step bass climbing up the scale.

A so well played bass, rhythm section.
