Pleiades filter for a high Z mic
It was tried today for a Lustraphone ribbon of 50KΩ Z out.
An inductance of 1H or 6.1H tried so far.
Such values of inductance especially 5H worked great on electric bass. The pickup directly connected to 5H. See Pleiades V5 experiments with electric bass. Getting the juice and detail of a bass string.
For the Lustraphone mic an impressive increase in detail and reduction of bass and mid heaviness due to proximity effect. See previous today's posts.

The particular mic is 50KΩ. Measuring with a ohmmeter is a guarantor to blow the ribbon. The measurement was done with an Escort LCR meter which sends a tone for the measurement to take place. It measures impedance at ac.
The mic came with a very very long cable. More than 25ft. It sounded interesting but not at its best.
The cable was cut and only a few feet left. Immediatly treble shined.
There still was a mid bass heaviness at close distance. A Pleiades 1H or 6.1H was connected in parallel with the 50KΩ output. It shined and the difference in cable capacitance creates an air similar to that heard on The Power of Love - Frankie Goes to Hollywood. Still the mic is a bit colored at mid range but the sound is very good.
Possibly a Pleiades (R,L) filter specifically made for high mic impedance with sound better.

Accidentally Dropping Pleiades filter on the floor
It must not become a habit.
The Pleiades (130Ω,40mH) inline filter inside Neutrik modules fell vertically on the wooden floor. A vinyl sleeved cable had been connected to it while it fell. It survived and for some readin it sounds even better.
It cannot be remembered right now if the ring core is ferrite or nanoperm.
This happened while doing tests described on previous post. Drop height was about 1m.
