Can music be taught like a language?

For example singing to somebody the melody of happy birthday using the notes themselves as lyrics:

Sol sol la sol re do
Sol sol sol(octave) mi do si la
Fa fa mi do re do


Another example can be teaching someone on YouTube to play on bouzouki the Sakenas Dance - Xarhakos, Ο Χορός του Σακενα - Ξαρχακος (recorded at EMI Columbia studios Athens):

Perhaps an easier way is for someone to teach himherself. A great example of self teaching is Vangelis (see his documentary).


If seems those who learn are those who surpass the frustration point. Flight or play hours in joy are needed.


Then music speaking or composing possibly becomes as easy as speaking a mother language.
