How does a Pleyel model 9 1921 piano sounds like

It took almost 3 years to re polish all strings made at the brilliant French Firminy string factory. It was decided not to restring with different type of modern strings. The piano was tuned higher to produce slightly stretched harmonics so that even a single note would sound current to ear brain. The human brain wants more x2 in frequency. See also the difference of the engineering and ear brain octave one euroelectron bloggspot.

The Armenian Piano technician Albert Ketenzian had given much knowledge.

The piano was rebuilt after the Hellenic Olymbic games while consulting by phone Monsieur Jean Lovy who was very young at the Pleyel factory in 1920s. A real gentleman, he would send every information needed by post. Even his leather piano stringing gloves.

The upright piano was recorded with the lid open to 2 Pleiades in ear electret mics (see Pleiades binaural 3D microphone) feeding an m-audio microtrack. An MP3 file and low image resolution was used. The sound is better in the wav.
