Is there a contest for low noise microphone head amplifiers?

For example a very efficient magnet moving coil or ribbon mic.

An anechoic chamber.

A watch ticking many feet away from the mic.

Or an evacuated chamber to measure acoustic thermal noise as on the Harry Olson specially designed ribbon microphone experiment.

Harry Olson chose the lower noise of an electron tube instead of a FET.
