A thought on The Motown reverb chamber


The following link mentions that the Motown chamber was built by the Berry Gordy's dad Pop Gordy using plaster boards.

This is  possibly an important detail


Plasterboards absorb low frequencies by sympathetic vibration so they give less reverberation time at LF. This is possibly done by converting air molecule vibration (sound) to board molecule vibration to heat. See also membrane or panel absorbers.
