On the beach designing on the sand

Dr Robert Pettifer, a pioneer of synchrotron science said one day. You Hellenes do not even need paper or ink. You have just been writting on the sand and philosophy begun.

It was not realized then.

But after a few years many electron tube schematics had found their birth on the sand. There were drawn by feet and the water wave was erasing.

The circuit was redrawn and erased many times. Many winters. Until one of them got this form (Pleiades V6 booster):

To Dr. Pettifer, a fascinated listener of Mahler's symphonies on vintage electrostatic Quad speakers, he was a brilliant teacher explaining electromagnetic waves, Fourier transform or noise, making it look as easy as a walk on the beach.
