A personal note on  Alan Parsons.
The more important somebody is the more he, she can be open.
Many years ago, at the begining of Internet taking off, an email had been sent to Alan Parson asking some technicalities on the making of Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd.
Alan Parsons replied immediatly explaining STC Coles 4038 ribbon microphones as drum overheads, Dolby SR on one of the multitrack tape machines to keep noise down from loss of generation, if memory is correct,  etc. He gave advice participating on NAMM show.
