Bias resistor has been disconnected from collector and connected to power supply Vb.
Now as Vb was increased from 12V to 24V to 36V to 48V with corresponding increase in Ia, increase in loudness could be heard.
With the Pleiades 64Ohms to 8 Ohms output transformer used, typical good sounding condition is:
Vb=12V, Ic=70mA.
Vb=24V, Ic=113mA
Vb=36V, Ic=150mA
Vb=48B, Ic=200mA
But there is some kind of graininess to the sound.
Is this coming from the Walkman CD source or from the power amplifier?
