Creating a variable inductor of high R to L ratio

It could be used as a Pleiades (R,L) microphone filter.

It may be made by 2 solenoid coils wound on separate magnetic material.

They are connected in series and antiphase so that L decreases while total R remains constant.

L should be possible to be adjusted by varying the distance ie coupling between the 2 solenoid coils.

So high pass cutoff frequency can be adjusted while the relative high R creates a gentle high pass (low cut) slope.

Would it work?
