then perhaps the game would have been over, they sound that good.
How would a modern battery portable record player or CD player or file player or whatever sound with associated power amplifier in class A (electrons flowing all the time)?
A good fullrange speaker perhaps high impedance to match one transistor or even higher to match electron tube.
No crossover network at the sensitive area of mid range frequency spectrum.
Just one speaker is enough. It may sound so good.
Vintage electron tube record players such as the Dansette Bermuda have just an electron tube operating in class A (electrons flowing all the time). Mike Oldfield had a Dansette when he was a kid, see BBC documentary on Tubular Bells. The Dansette Bermuda at Pleiades sounds so good as if musical instruments are alive beings. Amazing vocals too. Just an EL84 electron tube from high output piezoelectric cartridge to output transformer feeding an eliptical fullrange (Goodmans?) speaker.
