Yesterday it was tried with the transformer used as an autotrasformer. Only one winding was used and different taps of it.
Today the same output transformer was used with both of its windings.
Secondary was kept the same, speaker connected to the lower impedance tap.
Full primary was used which is in fact very similar to full secondary.
When the Zeis Ikon 12Ω speaker is connected to secondary the impedance of the primary measures about 60Ω.
When the Tesla 5in, 4Ω speaker is similarly connected, primary reflected impedance measures about 30Ω.
Quiescence transistor current was measured to be about 70mA.
Sound is a bit louder than the loud results of yesterday.
Sound quality perhaps even better.
Some measurements of this output transformer made of ordinary power transformer EI laminations.
Outer dimensions of iron structure: 3.5in x 4.25in x 1.5in.
109mH primary inductance, 140mH at about 100Hz.
25mH secondary inductance, 50mH at about 100Hz.
35 ohms reflected impedance with 4 ohm Tesla speaker connected to secondary.
