Treating loudspeaker enclosures acoustically as if they were rooms

At your risk.

On rooms not only porous absorbers are used for HF absorption but also membrane absorbers for low frequencies .

Why should it be different for loudspeaker enclosures.

Inside bass drums too.

For example betumin roofing felt, linoleum sheet etc.

Later addition:

Should one try small patches of material on adjacent sides of loudspeaker box? Diffusers, eg poly cylindrical on opposite sides?

Should a thin 1mm? sheet of roofing felt for example be used? Would it absorb mid bass frequencies more efficiently?

The trick is to fool the back side of driver unit to feel as if an infinite transmision line exists behind it or acoustic impedance matching.
