In Hellenic language there are 2 symbols or letters for the o (like in top) sound.
ο and ω ie omicron and omega.
The capital form is Ο and Ω.
In Hellenic they are written in full as such:
Όμικρον , ωμέγα.
Μικρον means small. Hence micrometer, microchip etc.
Μέγα means big. Hence megawatt, megahertz etc.
όμικρον is o μικρον meaning small o.
Ωμέγα is ω μεγα meaning mega or big o.
The Hellenic language must have a code for each letter.
For example ωκεανός which means ocean is not written οκεανος because an ocean is something huge.
No coincidence possibly that infinite in mathematics is symbolized as οο.
