AKG D112 for vocals with Pleiades proximity compensating transformer and K117 to iPad GarageBand

The AKG D112 sounded amazing on iPad.

Setup;

Bed - 0in singing distance  - D112 - Pleiades 1:22.5 step up proximity compensating transformer 30mH:19H - Pleiades K117 preamplifier with 220Ω source resistor - iPad - GarageBand - HD580

The 30mH transformer input inductance started below 1KHz compensating the bass increase due to the proximity effect.

The D112 does not roll off below 200Hz so a flat frequency response is maintained  for male voice.

The 2.5KHz increase in sensitivity similar to the Neumann U47 compensates for the Fletcher Manson and voice effort curves.

It would be interesting comparing the above setup to U47.
