As Philosopher Epictetous says:


We have the command (or the power over) 4 things:
Perception
Desire
Choice
Refusal



(We do not harm ourselves or others
Δεν κανουμε κακό σε εμάς η αλλους)


So as Mari understood it we can for example choose not to be afraid.
