This can be done by just adding an XLR barrel Pleiades (R,L) filter to create a gentle slope high pass wave filter.
Perhaps contrary to intuition singing needs less bandwidth (towards the bass) or singing will sound muddy, bass heavy, without presence, hidden in a backing music track.
ENG (electronic news gathering) perhaps needs the bass an omni moving coil mic can give for a more authoritative speech sound.
