Creating battery supply of less than 1.5V

At your risk. Take all safety precautions.

What if someone would like to bias an electron tube with -300mV using a battery. Or for example supply a 2SK117 amplifier stage deliberately with 600mV for that distorted bass guitar sound.

One way could be an exhausted non leaking battery. Or a non exhausted in series with an exhausted one at reverse polarity, although this can be dangerous in case current is drawn as one of the batteries will try to charge and may explode?!.

But 2 rechargeable ones may be connected in such a way to give say 200mV for a temporary experimental Vc (grid) supply for an electron tube since the grid draws a very small current?
