Exponential Growth and Doubling Time
One of the most important things we seem not to perceive is the process of exponential growth. We think we understand how compound interest works, but we can't get it through our heads that a fine piece of tisue paper folded upop itself fifty times (if that were possible) would be more than 20 kilometers thick.
