pleiades dipole speakers

1   mount many full range speakers very close together

2   mount the speakers on a panel, baffle, or open back box. use an arc to avoid focusing

3   connect any combination of series parallel to make any impedance

advantages

1   deep bass from a large vibrating area moving a lot of air . limit is the low frequency reasonance of the drive units

2   extended high frequency response as the small mass of each small cone permits high acceleration

3   mutual radiation impedance

4   each cone handles a small part of the total energy, very small displacement, reduced nonlinear distortion, high power handling capability

5   no box coloration

6   bass response rolls off gently since an open back drops at only 6dB per octave

7   dipole radiation giving amazing sound scape imaging

8   no frequency distribution crossover network needed, no power loss, no phase or other distortion

9   projection as sound level of arrays drops slowly with distance

10   efficiency from back radiation, no passive components, 3, 9
