The best microphone amplification setup so far?

Sennheiser MD21 HN at low Z - Pleiades V6 (140mH primary inductance) - Sony TC-D5 Pro - Sennheiser HD580


See also nearby euroelectron post with the Pleiades K117 included in the chain so that the EF183 electron tube of the V6 is generously driven.


It is interesting Sennheiser is the closest element to singer's vocal chords and listener's brain.


It cannot be over emphasized how grateful these experiments are to Sennheiser.



Had not accurate monitoring be with the Sennheiser HD580 headphones these experiments would have been like blind dates with bad surprises.


And thank you to Lefteris for his recommendation of the HD580 in around 2000.


With the hD580 the listener's brain can immediately tell if there is the slightest problem in bass.


All frequency spectrum is smoothly perceived by the listener's brain with no exaggeration.
