In general testing a mic that is to be used for singing by speech and not singing can lead to ironic results.
A great sounding mic can be dismissed on the grounds that speech reproduction was "thin"
Contrary to what it seems a singing microphone may need less bandwidth to sound flat in frequency responce from singer's vocal chords to listener's brain.
The best way to test is to sing and listen.
