Why do mono radios sound do good?

And they can be anywhere in the room, the listener anywhere, it's a perfect localization.

The radio becomes a musical instrument on its own.

Is this what is meant by the great music companion under the pillow? People still remember it.

Voice for example coming from one point in space just like real life.

If the amp is really good, for example class A (electrons flowing all the time) the result is fantastic. For example a Dansette record player with its class A electron tube single ended amp. Perhaps nothing can beat it. Mike Oldfield had a Dansete when being a kid (BBC Tubular a Bells documentary?).

You can even have your back at a mono source. It still sounds fantastic. You can even be at a different room at the sound is still so natural.

More on the previous euroelectron post.
