Can singing in tune improve if wearing earplugs?

The higher the intensity the lower the pitch at high frequencies for a given frequency.

Does this explain why if one sings while playing a guitar the singing is more in tune that when singing along with a piano which can be much louder?

By recording first the piano on iPad GarageBand then the piano could be played back at a very low level and singing was in tune. Surprisingly very much in tune.

But what does one do when wanting to record the pianist and the vocalist live.

One way could be having the vocalist further away and the piano sound sent by headphones at very low volume.

Another way could be to have them one next to the other and the vocalist wearing earplugs?!

Would this work?

There are earplugs that attenuate equally most frequencies....
