The Pleiades speaker consists of 1 or a combination of many full range drivers to archive any impedance desired as well as any size of vibrating area for any efficiency even at the lowest frequency.
Series parallel combinations of the voice coils may achieve an impedance of 8ohms or a very high impedance to be used for very careful connection to power electron tubes as the anode load itself.
Each speaker handles a small portion of the total power. So direct current can pass through. Each speaker operates at very small distortion as the excursions do not have to be large.
All the speakers vibrating at the same time move a large amount of air for great bass.
Each aids the radiation impedance that each speaker sees.
On the Pleiades speaker no cabinet is needed.
All the speakers can be mounted on a panel baffle.
