A Bach masterpiece

Note how much information a 4 part score made many centuries ago can contain.

Air on G string - Bach

In order to understand how music is made it is excellent to study this example. A few weeks of study can make you understand what is happening and then you are very strong.

Watch for example how Bach prepares all 7ths, 9ths intervals (distance from bass) for our brain and adds the 3 third interval from bass on another instrument so that a "dissonant" interval is made to something so beautiful it sounds out of a common world. See also reference.

Air on G string uses at least the following Hit Song Ingredients found in good music of any genre. Step bass (bass goes down or up in scale steps and at other places chromatically, Code (this piece is full of 7, 9, 6, 4-5 code etc, Sweetening (3rds are added, reverberation from the room the piece is played, many violins playing the same note, octaves are played by musicians by ear-brain so the frequency interval is slightly higher than x2, etc), Key (the key is D major that contains some of the most beautiful chords on our planet or our brain perception planet, B minor, G major 7th, E minor 9th etc).

Bach learned from the book by Niedt given in the reference, by studying other great composer such as Vivaldi, by improvising etc.
