A way to reduce the output impedance of an electron tube without an output transformer

For example.

Say the anode resistor is 10KΩ.

We build a series combination of 9.8KΩ and 200Ω and take the signal from the 200Ω resistor which is close to Vb.

Of course we loose more signal that in the case of a transformer but it can be done.

The Pleiades V5 battery operated electron tube preamplifier is doing this to get back to mic level output while having the signal processed more by the second stage EF183 electron tube.
