So this is possibly how it is done.
The brilliant and natural When I Fall in Love - Nat King Cole sound.
The amazing singer sings effortlessly to a nice microphone and an inductor in series with a resistor connected across pins 2,3 of microphone output take care of Flecher-Munson and voice effort curves. (All then is needed is a top flight head amp with minimum of components. Examples are the Pleiades V6 transformer coupled amplifier, the Pleiades V4 or V5 resistance coupled amplifiers. They use Pleiades bias for low anode voltage operation). (Compensating of Fletcher Munson curves and voice effort curves can lead to flat frequency response from producer's brain to listener's brain.)
