Tuning drums to a song

It makes sense to tune drums according to the key a song is written.

For example a sample of hi hat was recorded on iPad GarageBand.

Then the sample was played in the virtual keyboard until the note B was clearly heard.

Similarly for snare until B was heard.

It was then decided to make up a song on B minor.

The B hi hat was recorded on one track.

The B snare was recorded on track 2.

A chord progression based on B minor was recorded with GarageBand Hollywood Strings on track 3.

Then the whole recording was transposed to G# minor and the drums were transposed too!

The varispeed effect made hi hat and snare come so alive and big! And out of this world!

Set up for making the samples:

(Shure Unidune III, 9 or so inch -  Pleiades K117, 47pF, 220Ω - iPad )
