How to make a world class ribbon microphone transformer or moving coil step up transformer using an metal glass Nanocrystalinne amorphous core

 Ingredients:

Patience

The fabulous Magnetec 073 Nanocrystalinne toroidal tape wound nanoperm core

Thin and thicker insulated copper wire

For a ribbon microphone we only need to wind very few primary turns. (Perhaps even less than 10).

The less turns the less the bass so in this way we can compensate for the proximity bass effect of
singing close to the ribbon microphone.

We wind more turns for  the secondary with the thinner wire according to the desired step up (impedance) ratio. Pleiades transformers are made by winding first the secondary.

Enjoy!
