Yes it works.
Ionas the 5 year old kid would sing very out of tune while listening from an iPad Mama Mia 2 - Abba etc.
While on a countryside house balcony which is acoustically quiet it was suggested that they listen on YouTube from an iPad at the lowest possible acoustic intensity.
So only the lowest setting, 1st dot, 2nd and 3rd on iPad was used.
One of the songs heard and sung along is I Have a Dream - ABBA, (the original version).
Immediately Ionas could sing almost perfectly in tune and certainly improve pitch mistakes in real time.
Pitch perception does not depend only on frequency. It depends dramaticaly on acoustic intensity too.
He could also hear better himself. But perhaps the most important element is that at such low acoustic intensity our brain perceives the correct pitch.
