Where does the name YouTube come from?

You comes from I, You...

Tube comes from electron tube.

Older televisions used a big glass air evacuated tube. It looks like a fat bottle and us looking the picture at the bottom of it.

The electron gun is where the cork is.

Briefly, thermally emmited electrons are accelerated by varying electric potential and finally strike the end of the tube creating the varying or moving, motion picture.

It is called a cathode ray tube or CRT as electrons are emmited like rays from the cathode.
