Making interesting sound with the ZX Spectrum

The beep sounds are really nice. Coming directly from the microprocessor as on and offs?

The coin size piezoelectric speaker makes a very bright tweeter.

It's alive.

Using the random generator basic command and sequencing the for the program loop quickly by giving short note durations a very nice robotic sound can be made, like the beginning of R2D2 sounds. It is in the ZX spectrum manual. Thumps up to Sir Clive Sinclair.

One could multiply the frequency variable by a number such that octaves sound correct to listener's brain.  So a Pleiades tuning can be made. (It is well known that exact doubling of frequency is a poor octave to the human brain, see other euroelectron posts for references).
