Is it possible to troubleshoot digital circuits...

(At your risk, take all safety precautions, any voltage or current can be dangerous. Protect your precious hearing by all means).

...by a coil probe connected to an audio amplifier being approached to each IC or other areas of circuit?

For example approaching to the CPU of an electronic keyboard or drum machine. If idea is correct and the CPU does not operate, this may mean no sound coming out of the probe audio amplifier demodulating HF. Investigation may then lead for example to reset pin of CPU enabled by a low voltage at that pin etc. Then this may reveal a bad capacitor, electrolytic or tantalum, across such pin etc.

Later addition.
A VIvanco DM200 dynamic mic was wandered around a working DX7ii with keyboard unopened. Not much was heard except near the power supply.
Perhaps closer distance is needed or an oscillator together with a non linear amplifier input used to demodulate RF signals from instrument?
Even perhaps a portable AM radio in proximity to the instrument to be troubleshooted?
