Some elements of the first EMI Columbia studio in Athens

This is transcription from today's interview with the veteran sound engineer of Columbia EMI in Athens, Stelios Giannakopoulos. See next post, the transcription in Hellenic.

Stelios talk include the EMI RS61 low level amplifiers which were used at the first studio named studio 3. The later ones were named studios 1 and 2.

Unfortunately the ultra portable TRC 2500 cassette recorder bias failed mid interview. So this is most of what survived plus some extra information from memory. It seems cassette recorders beg to be abandoned in favor of reel to reel on Pleiades experiments.
