That bass heaviness is removed by compensating the proximity effect, equal loudness curves (Fletcher, Munson). voice effort curves. See previous recent posts.
A disadvantage is that it may no longer be a very low noise front end amplifier.
47μA for example seem to be very low noise.
So how about operating the electron tube at 47μA and reducing the number of turns of the output transformer primary? Half number of turns would create half ordinary resistance, 1/4 primary inducstnce so it is tricky.
Perhaps using a magnetic core or low inducstnce index?
