Hearing aid with one transistor class A output stage?

Would it be possible?

Later addition: here is a patented  circuit from Oticon:

The possibly simplest schematic on earth eg a Pleiades 2N3053 output stage operating with very low tension and high impedance ear speaker drive unit.

Would subjective loudness [Hamm] help prevent further hearing loss due to high SPLs?

Would an automatic gain control be also needed for further protection?

Would tape recording like preemphasis deemphasis (rounding of limited waveform) further help?
